Mount Alexander College
Mount Alexander College in Flemington delivers over 5,150 sqm of flexible, future-focused learning environments across five levels. Developed in close consultation with staff, students, and the broader school community, the project enhances connections between general and specialist learning areas, supporting adaptable, student-centred education. Purpose-designed spaces accommodate the arts, performance, science, digital technologies, and administration—fostering an integrated environment for contemporary teaching and learning.
The project extends into the landscape through a series of integrated external interventions, including outdoor learning spaces and an amphitheatre adjacent to the music and performance rooms. Conceived as an extension of the internal performance spaces, the amphitheatre acts as a campus-facing stage—supporting informal rehearsal and public events. A DDA-compliant bridge provides direct access from street level to the building’s main entry, reinforcing its civic presence. A new circulation spine enhances campus permeability, connecting existing buildings with a defined plaza. Together, these elements clarify the spatial hierarchy of the campus and contribute to a more inclusive, legible, and connected environment.
