Established in 1887, Monbulk Primary School holds a prominent place in the region’s history, with deep-rooted, multi-generational ties to the local community. Informed by extensive stakeholder engagement, Kosloff Architecture developed a masterplan that responds to the school’s pedagogical emphasis on discrete learning neighbourhoods, connected through a network of landscaped spaces—including kitchen gardens, nature play, outdoor classrooms, and competition-grade courts.
Delivered in alignment with the masterplan, two new buildings— a senior learning facility with integrated food technology and a new administration building—establish a contemporary campus edge and a clearly defined school entry. The existing heritage structure has been sensitively adapted to house junior learning spaces and a new library, reinforcing the site’s historical continuity while accommodating contemporary educational needs.
